DIY Step by Step Travel Accessories with Adhesive Vinyl

Hey crafters, Kayla from the Kayla Makes blog here today with simple DIY step-by-step tutorial. These DIY travel accessories are a quick and easy way to help keep your makeup and other personal care items nicely organized. All you need is a Cricut Maker (or any die cutting machine), blank travel accessories and Craftables permanent adhesive vinyl.

Estimated Time To Complete: 20 mins (Beginner)

Here's What You Need:

Upload Designs

Start by downloading the free SVG's from the Craftables website and then upload them into your software. After scaling them to fit on the travel bags, connect to your machine and then select vinyl as the cutting material.

Step One: Cut

Place the adhesive vinyl on the cutting mat face up, align the mat inside the guides and load the machine by pressing the load/unload button. Then, press the flashing start button to begin cutting.

Step Two: Weed

Once cutting is complete, use scissors to free the images from the remaining sheet of vinyl and then peel away the excess vinyl from around the design.

For smaller pieces, use a weeding (or hook) tool.

Step Three: Transfer Decals

Cut a piece of transfer tape to size and use a scraper tool to apply the transfer tape over the vinyl decal.

Place the decal and transfer tape on the zippered pouch and use the scraper tool again to apply firm pressure. Peel away the transfer tape leaving behind just the vinyl.

Repeat the steps above to create customized shampoo and face wash bottles.

This is such a quick and easy way to not only turn an otherwise boring product into something fun but also to help you keep small personal items organized in your travel bags. These small pouches and toiletry bottles are the perfect size to stick in your purse and take on a plane.

The Craftables website is jam packed with inspiring ideas like this one. Be sure to check out all of the other blog posts and then head to the Free SVG Downloads page and see what's new!
