Here are the supplies you’ll need:

Step 1: Open up the DIY Holographic Butterfly T-shirt Project Cut File. Resize each butterfly to fit your shirt surface (these butterflies are sized to fit a 5T shirt).

Step 2: To cut the Holograhic Sparkle Vinyl, click “Make it” and select “Holographic Sparkle” and more cutting pressure if using a Cricut Maker, “Heat Transfer +” for other Cricut Machines, and “Heat Transfer, Smooth” for Silhouette.

Step 3: Place the vinyl on the cutting mat with the patterned/liner side facing down.

Step 4: Add it to your Cricut (or Silhouette) machine to cut. Continue adding the remaining colors to your cutting machine until all of the butterflies have been cut.

Step 5: Trim down the design and weed the negative. You’ll also need to weed the small pieces inside of the wings. Repeat this process on all of the butterfly designs.

Step 5: Trim down the design and weed the negative. You’ll also need to weed the small pieces inside of the wings. Repeat this process on all of the butterfly designs.

Step 6: To add the butterflies, heat up your EasyPress (or iron) to 300-315 degrees. Place it on the shirt and hold for 5 seconds. Add the pink butterfly design and heat for it 10 seconds. Then, place the Teflon sheet on top and heat for another 15 seconds. Let the liner cool for a minute and peel it off.

Step 7: Repeat the above steps to add the remaining butterflies to the shirt. Be sure to cover the designs already on the shirt with either a removed liner (from another butterfly design) or a Teflon sheet to protect them from coming into direct contact with the EasyPress or Iron.

I absolutely love how this DIY shimmery butterfly t-shirt using holographic sparkle heat transfer vinyl turned out! In less than hour I was able to transform and completely customize a basic white t-shirt. The holographic sparkle vinyl really sparkles and shines!
